Launch of the Dragonfly
At the ceremony Coach Mark was recognized for work with Boston University to organize the purchase and delivery to her new home with us. On behalf of all of our rowers, Thank You Coach Mark for your time and dedication to our group and for everything you have done to help us grow our fleet.
The following is a quote from the dedication ceremony:
"Having flown the Earth for 300 million years, Dragonflies symbolize our ability to overcome times of hardship. They can remind us to take time to reconnect with our own strength, courage, and happiness.
The Japanese believe dragonflies are a symbol of success, victory, happiness, strength, and courage. The American Indian culture believes dragonflies are bringers of dreams. When a dragonfly sits on your shoulder, all your dreams will come true.
Legend has it that dragonflies were given an extra set of wings so that angels could ride on their back, smaller than small, yet when ever you see one, you can be certain that a angel has come down from heaven to visit you.
On behalf of every member of Naiades Oncology Rowing, thank you for joining us this afternoon. But more importantly, thank you for sharing your loved ones with us. It is truly our honor to row with them."
