A: Definitely not! We have competitive and recreational teams, and we can offer you a “Learn to Row” program at certain times of the year.
Q: What kind of cancer survivors can participate on your team ?
A: Survivors of all types of cancer are welcome to join our team!
Q: I want to support your organization and your team. Do I have to row ?
A: No…we will accept any type of support from anyone! You can join one of our committees, help us by staffing tables at regattas, or join us in our fundraising efforts by raising money or donating.
Q: How can I donate to your organization ?
A: You can mail a check to the organization at our main address, or you can visit our site at JustGive.org
Q: Can you explain rowing (sweep), sculling and the terminology used ?
A: Information is available on the US Rowing website including a description of the various rowing styles and terminology.
Q: What should I know about stretching before rowing ?
A: The US Rowing website has information about stretching. Every individual should know their specific strengths and weaknesses and only do the stretching exercises that are safe for them. If you are not sure, speak to your physician before starting a stretching routine.
Q: If I cannot afford the fees, is their financial assistance available ?
A: Yes, Row It Forward Scholarship Funds are available to those who would benefit from all that Naiades offers but who cannot afford the cost. The application form should be completed and submitted as outlined in the program information document .
